A responsible forerunner in steel service

Sustainability is one of our core values and a guiding principle in all our operations. We take responsibility for economic and social stability, climate and the environment. As a company, are committed to advancing a more sustainable and environmentally responsible industry in Finland.

We help our customers meet future environmental requirements by offering a wide range of low-emission steel options. Environmental product declarations (EPD) are available for all our main product groups, covering the climate impacts of both transportation and our service centers’ operations.

Towards carbon-neutral Feon

In 2020, energy consumption at our Hattula steel service center decreased by 28%, and the following year the service center became carbon neutral. In 2022, natural gas at Hattula was replaced with biogas. In 2023, all electricity used by Feon was switched to carbon-neutral green electricity, and our Akaa site became carbon neutral. In 2024, we transitioned to a more sustainable gas supplier.

We work every day to reduce the carbon emissions from our own operations, with the long-term goal of achieving a carbon-neutral Feon.
